Tripura University and the IMD have signed an MoU to develop an indigenous lightning detection system.

In a significant step to enhance India's weather monitoring and research capabilities, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Department of Physics at Tripura University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The signing ceremony, held on December 24, 2024, marked a crucial milestone in advancing the indigenous development of India's Lightning Detection Network (ILDN).
